Plenty of “free” AI courses charge for the certificate at the end. These five don’t: the course and the certificate or badge are both free.
1. Anthropic Academy
The company behind Claude runs its own course catalogue, from prompting basics to building with the Claude API and AI agents. Each course ends with a completion certificate.

2. Hugging Face AI Agents Course
A hands-on course on building AI agents, from Hugging Face. Complete the assignments to earn the certificate. Plan on 3–4 hours a week.

3. Google: Introduction to Generative AI
A short path of about 2 hours on Google Skills. Good if you’re starting from zero. You get a free skill badge for your LinkedIn.

4. Kaggle Learn
Short courses in Python, machine learning, deep learning, SQL and more, each 3–5 hours. Every course gives you a free certificate.

5. freeCodeCamp: Machine Learning with Python
The deepest course on this list, at around 300 hours, with projects. It ends with a free certificate.

Two to avoid if you want a free certificate
- Google AI Essentials: the certificate needs a paid Coursera subscription after the trial.
- DeepLearning.AI short courses: the videos are free, but certificates need a Pro plan.
One honest note
A certificate helps you get the interview. Your projects get you the job. Pick one course, finish it, and build one small project with what you learned.
